A wildfire in the South Hall subdivision in Greenville Tuesday has some questioning if they'd be ready for a similar situation.
The woods fire behind homes on Sheffield Court threatened many homes near the subdivision. Wednesday many people say they spent the morning, buying fire proof boxes, and also getting emergency contact information from their neighbors.
Forestry officials told us the pine straw, mulch, and dry grass around the homes also needs to be trimmed back or even eliminated as it only fuels flames like the ones residents saw Tuesday.
Forestry officials say trimming your landscape in the winter, can reduce the spring fire season.
