A report says North Carolina could gain thousands of jobs by 2020 if it implements energy efficiency programs and makes more renewable energy.
The report to the legislative Climate Action Plan Advisory Group says going green could bring the state 300,000 new jobs.
Researchers say in the report that many of the new jobs would come from the agribusiness and waste industries that produce fuel from diverse plants, landfills and animal waste.
