Death Penalty Sought In Rocky Mount Church Attack

The district attorney says he'll seek the death penalty for the man arrested for last week's attack on two Meals On Wheels volunteers.

Tommy Lee Holiday made a brief court appearance in Nashville. After the DA announced the death penalty, he asked the judge to appoint a second attorney for Holiday.

Holiday is accused of killing Debbie Kornegay and wounding Eve Beasley while the two were preparing meals Thursday morning at a Rocky Mount church.

Security was extremely tight and Holiday was returned to Central Prison a short time later.

His next court appearance is scheduled for November 6th.
