Authorities Remove Protesters From Charlotte Construction Crane

Authorities say they have removed two protesters who unfurled a protest banner on a Charlotte construction crane early Tuesday morning.

Activists with the Rainforest Action Network draped a 50-foot banner across from Bank of America's headquarters, criticizing the company for funding coal mining and coal-fired power plants.

A spokesman for the San Francisco-based environmental group says the protesters were never in danger.

Charlotte Fire Department Capt. Rob Brisley says two people were removed from the site but that firefighters are making another search of the construction area.
