The North Carolina Seafood Festival began the day Sunday with the blessing of the fleet, on its third and final day.

Hundreds of people came out to the North Carolina State Port in Morehead City to honor hundreds of people who have passed away or died at sea as commercial fishermen. One commercial fisherman who has spent nearly 70 years in the industry was at Sunday's ceremony, and reflected on what the blessing of the fleet meant to him.

The ceremony ended as fishing boats drove by the crowd dropping wreaths in the water to remember a fisher man or woman that has passed.
