Greenville Fountain Turned Off

The city of Greenville turned off the fountain in front of city hall Thursday.

The decision follows Monday's call from Governor Easley for all residents to conserve water.

Although most of the water in the fountain is recirculated, city officials said they turned off the fountain as a symbolic reminder for citizens to watch their water usage.

There are no mandatory water restrictions in place in Greenville.
