Greenville Families Displaced After Fire Breaks Out

It happened in the Brookhill Apartment Complex off Tobacco Road in Greenville along Southwest Greenville Boulevard.

Firefighters from several agencies in Pitt County responded to the blaze around 8:30. Officials tell us no one was home when the fire started.

Greenvile fire department deputy chief Sandy Harris says the seven apartments in the same building as the one that went up in flames had to be evacuated. However, he says the fire adjacent to the fire was contained to the one apartment, with minor smoke and fire damage to neighboring units.

The fire is under investigation and all families displaced will have shelter provided by the Red Cross.
