Hillary Clinton's Democratic presidential campaign is bragging about raising more money in North Carolina than John Edwards over the past few months. But the bigger picture is not quite as rosy.
Clinton raised almost $288,000 in the third quarter from North Carolina donors. Edwards, a former North Carolina senator who lives in Chapel Hill, raised nearly $266,000.
Overall in this election cycle, the Federal Election Commission says Edwards has raised a total of 2.1 million dollars from North Carolina donors. That compares with $501,000 for Clinton.
