Breaking Down Barriers For The Disabled

Students and adults with disabilities got a chance Tuesday to show employers what they can do.

The Beaufort County Development Center and Wal-Mart of Washington teamed up to provide mentoring opportunities for some developmentally disabled Beaufort County residents.

Participants were paired with a Wal-Mart employee for the morning and assisted with jobs like stocking shelves, assembling toys and furniture, and even developing film.

The mentoring day was created to break down barriers for those with disabilities.
