Two people spent a long night on the Little Swift Creek near Vanceboro in Craven County.
Vanceboro Police Chief Kelvin Nobles says he spotted a woman with major facial and head trauma on the creek landing around 9:20 Monday morning. Nobles says her boat slammed into a tree around 6:30 Sunday night.
A man still needed rescued from the water. It took crews an hour to do that. Both people were taken to the hospital.
