New EMS Facility For Emerald Isle

EMS crews will soon get a new forty eight hundred square foot state of the art facility.

The crew in Emerald Isle, faces many challenges. Not only are they responding to emergencies on land, but also in the ocean. For instance Tuesday's drowning of sixty year old Robert Lee Medford of Pelliteir. In the past the crews have been in and out of storefronts, even storage sheds. This new facility provides them with new bays, crews quarters, and storage areas. Having everything in order and accessible is crucial when you're over thirty minutes from the nearest hospital.

The new facility on Highway 58 is expected to be done by July of 2008.
