DOT Releases Uncensored Documents On Consultant's Contract

Documents released by the state DOT show a contractor hired to review the road-building agency tried to keep it proposal secret.

The Transportation Department blacked out several pages of contract details with the McKinsey and Company before releasing them. But the governor told the DOT to release uncensored documents that included how the consultant would complete the project.

DOT is paying $3.6 million to the firm to complete a wide-ranging internal review of the department. After saying there would be no written report of the study, the DOT secretary now says one will be released this month.
