Police Offer Reward In Slaying Of Pit Bull Breeder

Catawba County officials say they'll pay $10,000 for information that helps close an investigation of a pit bull breeder's death.

Roy Thomas Melton was found shot to death in his home. Police found 30 pit bulls at the 38-year-old's rural home, and all the dogs were later euthanized.

The names of some of the dogs listed in the indictment against suspended NFL quarterback Michael Vick also appear in papers found at Melton's home.

The county sheriff says the case has nothing to do with Vick or his kennel operation to bankrolling to Melton's death.
