Hung Jury In Vaughn Jones Re-trial

A mistrial today in the re-trial of Vaughn Jones, a Pamlico County man accused of killing two people in 2003.

A Craven County jury told the judge this afternoon that they were deadlocked 7-5 in favor of convicting Jones.

A year ago, a jury in Pamlico County was deadlocked 6-6 in his first trial.

Vaughn Jones is accused of killing Rosa and Richard Flowers back in January of 2003 in their Pamlico County home.

The re-trial was moved to Craven County because of pre-trial publicity.

The judge ordered Jones held without bond as the district attorney says they plan to hold yet another trial for Jones.
