There's a new man in town elected to make the downtown Washington area better that it already is! The newly formed downtown "Washington on the Waterfront" has hired Steve Tanner, a planning director out of South Carolina, to spearhead design, promotions, organization and economic restructuring plans for the area. Tanner says his first job will be to weigh in on a previously established marketing overview called the "Dickson Study" of the downtown waterfront area. The group will hold a public meeting October 19 in the Washington City Council Chambers for review.
