Washington County Sheriff Could Face Civil Removal

Washington County Sheriff Stanley James breaks his silence professing his innocence.

James, accused of embezzlement, felony conspiracy, and obstruction of justice, following a State Bureau of Investigation probe faces the possibility of losing his job. In an exclusive interview with WITN, James now on leave as the Sheriff of the county reacts to news that prosecutors are calling for his civil removal.

He says he's feeling strong about the situation because of family and community support. A hearing is scheduled Sept. 27. James says his spirits are high and says thanks to the public for their support. He was detained Aug. 23 by state investigators.
