Ambulance Prompts Safety Review

A second accident involving an Onslow County ambulance in as many weeks has paramedics there taking a safety break.

Tuesday morning in Jacksonville, one of the county's paramedic units collided with a car on Highway 17, while transporting a trauma patient to the hospital. One paramedic had minor injuries.

County Emergency Services Director Mark Goodman promptly ordered all EMS crews to go through a safety stand-down and refresher training next week. It won't interfere with emergency care calls.
