Seven out of the 12 toys featured to be this year's most popular
are hooked to either a computer or TV screen.
Jim Silver, editor-in-chief of Toy Wishes, says "Today, kids
have iPods and cell phones." As he puts it, "We live in a
different world of how children play."
Among the top selections are American Idol Talent Challenge for
ages 8 and up; Aqua Dots Super Studio for ages 4 and up; and Barbie
Girls for ages 6 and up. Transformers and Rubik's Revolution, an
electronic version of the traditional Rubik's cube, also look to be
popular for children aged 5 and up.
Toy Wishes bases its list on the publication's review of
thousands of toys and interviews with retailers.
