Cooper Talks School Safety

North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper was in eastern Carolina Monday talking school safety.

State leaders, including Cooper, say school safety is a top priority.

Cooper spoke at an education summit in Greenville on the need to have specific strategies set in place to ensure student safety. He says the first step is for schools to properly train their teachers and students on what to do in case of an emergency. Cooper also advises all schools to have critical incident response kits. Those kits have evacuation routes, keys and codes to unlock things.
