Authorities say a man who tried to burn a nest of yellow jackets next to his home ended up burning his house.
Assistant Greensboro Fire Chief David Douglas says the man sprayed insecticide in a hole next to the house yesterday, but that didn't kill the bugs.
Then he stuck paper in the hole and lit it, but the fire spread to a wall and then the attic.
Fire officials say the house has been condemned until repairs can be made.
