It Appears Eastern Carolina Will Not Get the Remnants of Hurricane Ivan

For now, Hurricane Ivan isn't expected to have any major effects on Eastern North Carolina, allowing homeowners to breathe a sigh of relief.

People who own waterfront homes on the banks of the Tar River often deal with flooding problems after heavy rain storms.

Even though Ivan is expected to affect the Appalachian Region of the state, homeowners in Eastern Carolina still worry about the potential of future flooding problems from other hurricanes.

Hurricane Ivan is expected to dump up to 20 inches of rain in Western North Carolina.
