New Building Unveiled at ECU

East Carolina University may have unveiled new uniforms last weekend against West Virginia, but the school unveiled a new building this weekend.

The Thomas W. Rivers building opened its doors to visitors Saturday after a ribbon cutting featuring some special people in education. The building expansion and renovation cost approximately $12 million dollars, and will house the school of nursing and the college of human ecology. Dr. Molly Broad, president of the University of North Carolina, said with such a shortage of nurses in Eastern Carolina, this school will have a major impact on the area both in education and for our economy.
The new building features extra class spaces and office space.

The project was funded in part by the 2000 North Carolina Higher Education Facilities Bond program.
