Boil Water Notice Issued

People who live in the town of Beaufort in Carteret County are being told not to drink the water without boiling it first. The North Carolina Division of Environmental Health issued the boil water notice Friday after tests showed coliform bacteria in the water. Health officials say water for drinking, cooking, ice-making and brushing teeth should be brought to a rolling boil for five minutes, or use bottled water until further notice.
