Settlement talks are ongoing between Duke University and lawyers for family members of current and former Duke lacrosse players other than the three exonerated of rape accusations.
That's according to Duke spokesman John Burness. What is to be resolved was not clear. Burness says the months of talks are meant to "reach a fair resolution."
He would not discuss possible lawsuits or other details related
to the discussions and referred instead to a statement posted on
the school's Web site.
Duke has already settled with the three players' families,
though details have not been disclosed. The school also has reached
a private settlement with former lacrosse coach Mike Pressler.
The three players also are seeking a $30 million settlement from
the city of Durham and reforms in the legal process.
