Mudslides and Massive Flooding in Western Part of State

Western North Carolina has been hit hard by the remnants of Hurricane Frances.

Massive flooding and mudslides have occurred. A group from eastern Carolina has been called upon to help.

The Pitt County Water Rescue team is a specially trained group of rescue officials that will help in the evacuation of residents from the Western part of the state.

Forecasters are predicting Wednesday's flooding will be the worst to hit that area in nearly a decade.
