PCMH Gets New Technology

Tuesday the hospital received hyperbaric oxygen treatment chambers used to treat persistent wounds. The chambers will be at PCMH's new off-site wound healing center. The chamber exposes the patient to highly compressed oxygen helping wounds heal. The treatment usually requires a person be placed in the chamber for two hours a day for 30 days. Program director, Debra Mizelle says it'll be a great convenience for patients. The new program is medicare and medicaid-approved. The wound healing center, is expected to open later this fall on Highway 33, next to the new Lowe's Home Improvement construction site.
