While the seasonal flu season has just begun, the vaccine to prevent it is no where to be found.

Some pharmacies have simply run out of their doses, others didn't get any at all. That's the case for the small mom and pop pharmacies in Beaufort County. Their distributor, North Carolina Mutual Drug, told them the manufacturer's had bad batches of the vaccine and had to cancel the shipment.

The shortage put the burden on larger pharmacies and the health department to serve the public. Now they've run out of the seasonal vaccine and don't expect see much more it in the area. Health departments in Beaufort, Craven, Pitt, Onslow and Lenoir counties are all out.

Pharmacies that don't have the seasonal flue vaccine do expect to get the H1N1 vaccine next month.
