Sewage Spill: 200,000 Gallons Of Untreated Wastewater
An estimated 200,000 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled into a ditch leading to the Ahoskie Creek in the Chowan River Basin in Hertford County Wednesday.

An estimated 200,000 gallons of untreated wastewater spilled into a ditch leading to the Ahoskie Creek in the Chowan River Basin in Hertford County Wednesday.
It was reported by the town of Ahoskie.
The sewage spill lasted approximately 12 hours.
Town officials say it happened because of a blockage in the line. They say that blockage has been removed.

Ahoskie is a welfare town, nothing good has ever come out of there, and it will not change.

Sounds like somebody needs to update their sewage system. Oh wait, they are FINALLY getting around to that. Current town manager has been proactive about making that happen. It has been LONG over due...

To Sewer rat-what if 200,000 was an underestimate and it as really 500,000 gallons. Get with it man, that amount of sewage in a river system that people fish from is quite a bit. If you got a bill for 200,000 gallons of water wasted through your toilet you wouldn't care, would you?
