Fire Burns 20 Acres Of Land In Onslow County Save Email Print

A fire that started early Saturday afternoon in Onlsow County is now under control.

Deputy Chief Matthew Champney of the Hubert Volunteer Fire Department the blaze burned about 20 acres of land.

It happened along the 400 block of Highway 172 around 3 o'clock.

Champney says the fire jumped outside the containment line but only two homes were ever in danger.

Those two homes were evacuated and no one was injured during the blaze.
