It was the biggest wildfire eastern Carolina has seen in years, and without the necessary equipment, it may never have been put out. And we're not just talking about the job of the firefighters

Six U.S. Cellular employees accepted a plaque Wednesday from the director of the North Carolina Forest Service for their hard work setting up a cell-truck on the frontlines to help in efforts to fight the Evans Road fire.

The men were able to process more than 4,500 calls each day through the portable cell site and they also handed out wireless phones to emergency personnel.
