For the most part Washington's waterfront in Beaufort County was deserted Wednesday except for one fisherman.

Dwayne Roach decided to bare the stormy conditions, cast his line anyways, and let mother nature takeover.

"Sometimes the fish bite better when weather is a little crazy."

For Roach, his game plan worked, he caught a huge Cat Fish.

“As long as I have my umbrella to keep me dry, I could do this all day.”

Washington’s waterfront is exactly where Roach wants to spend his days, until it starts lightning out, that's the one thing that will send him back inside.

According to Washington Dock Attendant Guy Blackwell today's storm was a fairly minor event. He says while there has been plenty of rain there haven't been any real high winds or a great rise in water.
