Free Fruits & Vegetables At Belhaven Community Garden
In a tight economy some of us are being forced to cut back, that's one reason a local town is trying to help it's community members with grocery costs.

Shoppers, take your pick from green beans, to peppers, and watermelon, there's something for almost everybody at Belhaven's community gardens.
Belhaven Mayor Adam O’Neal says "We've got 500 tomato plants so we're going to have enough tomatoes for north eastern Beaufort County probably."
Two gardens were planted by volunteers and funded by the town, now everyone is welcome to harvest them.
"The food is for anyone, the garden is open to anyone in town and they can come out at their leisure and pick whatever they'd like to have."
There's no line, no wait, and definitely no checkout. Leaving no one with an excuse to go hungry this summer.
"We can truly say in Belhaven there's no one that should be starving because we have free food right here at the community garden."

It looks as this is for Belhaven residents to me. I think all towns should use some of the tax money we all pay in and do this for their town!
This is great it does one heart good to know that God has still got somebody who cares. I'm sure this will help somebody and you might be surpise just who.
this goes to show not everything that happens here in Belhaven is bad like most believe. Thank you God for the wholesome people we have in our community that worked to help out the hungry. It was a great idea I hope it carries on throughout the years. I agree with "bob" I could use a watermelon right now instead of paying 4.99 / 3.99 with MVP at food lion. Thanks again to all of those in Belhaven that have helped and encouraged!!
