"American Idol" winner Fantasia Barrino is again finding that life is not a fairy tale in North Carolina.

Court documents obtained Tuesday show one of Barrino's houses in
Charlotte will be up for auction in January following apparent struggles to pay taxes in 2006. The home is valued at $1.1 million.

Court documents show that Florida-based Broward Energy Partners
agreed to pay more than $68,000 of Barrino's taxes in October 2006.
She repaid $10,000, but a judge later allowed the company to recover the full loan. It's unclear why the home was chosen as compensation.

A company attorney didn't return a message Tuesday, and Fantasia's record label, J Records, had no comment.

Since her "American Idol" win in 2004, Barrino has released two albums and acted on Broadway.

The North Carolina native has an autobiography, "Life is Not a Fairy Tale."

I never heard from her after "Idol". How did she get so much money anyway? Maybe she got some from making that REALLY BAD lifetime movie.....about her life. I'll give her that she can sing, BUT SHE CERTAINLY CAN'T ACT!!! She is probably trying to take care of her entire family, that tends to suck people dry.

To Blog Refuter: I agree with you, absolutely. Most people that came from nothing or had very little, and find wealth and fame, usually have a hard time controlling their spending habits. Look at those folks who won the lottery and were flat broke in 2 years time. It's not her fault. I'm sure she has, or should have, a financial adviser who is suppose to be taking care of her money and didn't pay her taxes for her. This rags to riches to rags again story is seen so often. I hope that it can be worked out, but if she had knowledge of her taxes not being paid, then she should lose the home. You can only live in one house at a time anyway.

"Anti-Refluter", whatever that is (sigh), if you would stop being mentally lazy, then maybe you would know half as much as I do. : ).
