Country singer Patty Loveless will perform in Greensboro, promoting a new album that's her first since a period of self-imposed exile.
The Associated Press reports that Loveless will perform Friday night at the Carolina Theatre. She's promoting her new album, "Sleepless Nights." It's a collection of country songs that have significance in her life.
The self-imposed exile began in 2005, when her mother-in-law
died and her brother had a stroke. That same year, her record company pulled her album from the shelves because Loveless said it
was released with copy-protection in the CD that could damage
computers.
Since then, she's recorded vocals for a song on a Bob Seger
album and recorded a song for a charity album.
