Actress Kristin Davis of "Sex and the City" will debut a line of clothing this fall at North Carolina-based Belk stores.

Belk says the brand will first be offered in 125 stores and online, with expansion to other Belk stores next spring.

Davis was born in Boulder, Colo., but grew up in Columbia, S.C. She said she thinks she understands what a Southern woman wants to wear.

The items will sell for between $38 and $240 and include women's apparel, sleepwear, loungewear, shoes, handbags and jewelry.

Belk President McKay Belk says Davis is a great fit for the Charlotte chain because she grew up shopping in Belk stores and knows the fashion sensibility of its customers.

Davis played Charlotte York on the HBO series "Sex and the City" and in the recently released movie and is scheduled to promote the line at some Belk stores this fall.

I say go for it! Ashley Judd has her own collection at Goody's. I don't think you'll get any celeberty's collection at Wal-Mart, unless it's Hannah Montana or High School Musical.
