It's a club that gets kids off the streets during after school hours to get homework help, play games, and just have some fun. And soon kids in Ayden will have a brand new facility for it.

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Pitt County broke ground Monday on the latest facility in Ayden.

The new club will be more than 20,000 square feet and will have state of the art equipment for kids.

Executive Director of the Pitt County Boys and Girls Clubs, Jay Faror, says it's all thanks to donations from the community that the new building is possible and also the willingness of the school to partnership with the club.

Former Rose standout and NFL star Alge Crumpler was one of the speakers at the event. He also spent a lot of time at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Pitt County as a kid.
