Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools has fired an after-school staffer because of an offensive comment he posted on the social networking site Facebook.
The Charlotte Observer reported Tuesday that seven district employees have been disciplined because of Facebook entries.
Superintendent Peter Gorman also has recommended that an elementary school teacher be fired after writing she was "teaching in the most ghetto school in Charlotte."
The teacher's lawyer said she was "telling the truth" about the school, where 74 percent of students are black and 93 percent qualify for lunch subsidies to low-income families. He said the dictionary definition of "ghetto" is a part of the city in which members of a minority group live, "especially because of social, legal or economic pressure."

That district is trying to lay people off anyway. Have seen worse on facebook from other teachers and nothing happened. They must have it in for this one!
Sounds like a nightmare. The Superintendent should be grateful anybody would even want teach there anyways, for the $24 grand a year to be in that environment, 50 hours a week. Talk about depressing. You know his entire day was spent with discipline problems.
Apparently this is what facebook can get you into.
