Titans Running Back Johnson Not Pleased About Rookie Award Snub
Former ECU Pirate Chris Johnson said the AP's Rookie Of The Year award is "bogus". Atlanta QB Matt Ryan won the award by a landslide vote. Posted: 2:27 PM Jan 1, 2009 |

Nashville, TN - Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson is not happy about finishing second to Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in the AP Rookie Of The Year voting.
"He's a good player, and he played quarterback and did a good job this year," Johnson said of Ryan. "But the whole thing is bogus, because people are voting for it that are not on the same field as the people who are playing. I'm disappointed. I did all I could to win it. I feel I did the best. I feel I did all I could do to win it; it just didn't come my way."
Ryan earned 44 of the 50 first place votes while Johnson only picked up three.
Johnson went on to say that he was the only rookie who made the pro bowl so the rookie of the year award should have been his.
"Ive proved people wrong before. I'll focus on winning a Super Bowl and show them they made a mistake." Johnson said.
