Memphis, TN - East Carolina is in Memphis this week getting set to take on Kentucky in the 50th Annual Liberty Bowl on Friday evening. It is the third time the Pirate football team has played in the Memphis bowl.

ECU lost to Illinois in 1994 before adopting the motto "Unfinished Buisness" the following year.

The Pirates finished that buisness the following year by beating Stanford out of the Pac 10, 19-13.

WITN needs to keep these highlights so ECU fans can have something to be happy about.

I watched some of those highlights and thought they were quite sad. Dave is right ECU has no history and I can't wait till they get crushed by Kentucky.

your sentance is a double negative dave... NO hisory exceot the history of 13 years ago??... speaking of 13 years ago... you mean the last rose bowl appearance for penn st? oh wait, it was actually 14 years ago. quit acting like penn st. is all that. they won a conference that is gonna be 1-6, at best, in bowl games to get to the rose bowl just to enjoy the spanking that usc is gonna give you today... then you can wait another 14 years to get spanked again.

It is pretty sad whenever your team has absolutely NO history and you have to watch the ancient history of 13 years ago.

Brings back the memories. I was a senior. That was the second bowl game I attended along with the '92 Peach Bowl. I missed the '94 Liberty Bowl. Glad about that. But what great memories.
