Legan And The Pirates Outgun Seahawks, 99-85 Save Email Print

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- James Legan scored 26 points to lead six
East Carolina players in double figures in a 99-85 victory over
North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday night.

The Pirates (6-1) led 52-48 at halftime, then hit four straight
3-pointers to open the second half and build a 16-point cushion
over the Seahawks (3-5).

East Carolina led by 21 points with 7:49 left.
Jamar Abrams added 18 points for the Pirates, Darrius Morrow had
16, Sam Hinnant scored 13 and Chad Wynn and Brock Young chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Sophomore Chad Tomko scored a game-high 29 points for the
Seahawks. Dominique Lacy added 22 points, and Johnny Wolf finished
with 19.

UNC-Wilmington outrebounded East Carolina 38-31, but turned the
ball over 13 times.

Congratulations, Pirates, on your win. But let's tighten up that defense. It looked very sloppy in the first half.
