During the West Virginia-- ECU game fans rushed the field as some officers were caught on tape stopping them by force.

Administrators blamed the problem on officers being from other counties.

Since that incident, administrators called for only Pitt County authorities to work during the games.

Now fans, like, Phillip Stitt says they're not worried about security for this game.

"I think we should be able to celebrate to a certain point now, whether they got to do their job, it's on them. But security is here for a reason and I think it's a good thing."

I don't think ECU will win anymore games this season. If you choose not to follow University rules, bad karma will come to you. Everyone wants to blame on the cops. So enjoy the season.

Physical threats against anyone, your kid or law enforcement officers is out of place here. I'm sure you wouldn't try it in real life though. Good idea on closing in the endzone with seating.

You gotta love these people that make physical threats against law enforcement officers in the safety of their houses, typing away at a computer. Physical threats are out of place here, Big T. Good idea about closing off the endzone with seating though.

The answer to the storming the field problem is to close the end of the stadium off with seating. Ticket sales support it and its a win-win for everyone. I was at the WVA game. There, at the beginning, were about 25 students who started that needed to be locked up. But there were two officers that went WAY beyond what was necessary. All the punches weren't to the backs of the legs. If that had been my kid the big guy in gray punch in the face or neck after he was cuffed, I'd have a "discussion" with both. The kid, because he should have been busted, and the cop for excessive force. I am relatively sure that BOTH would need a proctologist-to remove my shoes. I appreciate what officers do, but some are just people who use the badge and gun to, in their mind, right wrongs commited against them all their lives. I unfortunately have an aquaintance that does just that.

Tsk, tsk, here we go again. If you guys put this much focus into your daily lives as you do bashing ECU, whom I secretly think you love BTW, you would be so much happier! Did ECU do something to you personally that makes you hate us so? Please divulge, I'd like to know.

EXCELLENT post Two Dogs! ECU's 2008 season couldn't have been scripted out any better!! LOL!

I heard they were short forty officers because nobody wants to work for ECU after the Chancellor and Chief threw the other agencies under the bus. By the way, the report didn't say what the plan is now, if the students HAD rushed the field. Is there a plan now? What is it? Of course with the football team playing like they did yesterday I guess it's not an issue anyway. Maybe ECU will lose the rest of their games and nobody will have to worry about fans going on the field.

Well, look at the bright side ECU faithful, by losing today, there was NO reason to storm the field! See, I do care about the safety of ECU fans!
