Rocky Mount police say they have arrested a murder suspect.
They say 18-year-old Dewayne Avent was taking into custody at a home on Ketchpoint Drive Friday, where he was hiding in an attic.
Avent was charged with first degree murder in connection with a homicide in December on Parham Street.
Tronyale Daniel, age 27, was shot and killed.

Police say 18-year-old Dewayne Avent of 313 Sanders Dr. in Rocky Mount is responsible for the murder of 27-year-old Tronyale Daniel. Police say Daniel was shot and killed on Parham Street Sunday evening.
Avent is known to frequent the Ketch Point subdivision and the Little Raleigh area of Rocky Mount, according to police. Anyone who knows where Avent is or sees him is urged to call police at (252) 977-1111.

Rocky Mount Police say 27-year-old Tronyale Daniel of Francis Court was shot and killed on Parham Street Sunday evening. Police say Daniel was in a fight with two men and a woman there, when someone shot him in the chest. Police say Daniel died at Pitt County Memorial Hospital after 10 p.m. Sunday. Police say they are interviewing people, but want anyone who may have information about the murder to call Twin County Crime Stoppers at (252) 977-1111.

stop lying to yourself is this the first person that he shot or shot at and you know? or is this the only one he is responsible for by the police report face the facts anyway why would someone hide him if the police is looking him for murder answer the and be free or run and hide and let the evidence build up against you
my heart to Tron's family...he was a good person in heart and soul.. I know- he worked for me a few years ago and was a great person. As for the person who shot him...be glad the police found you before I did.. I know you and where you live and by the time I turned you over to the police, you would have wished you were dead!!
