Columbia Man Arrested For Several Robberies In Tyrrell County
On Monday Tyrrell County Deputies arrested 26 year old Benjamin Johnson Brickhouse of Columbia on two counts of felonious breaking and entering and larceny.

On Monday Tyrrell County Deputies arrested 26 year old Benjamin Johnson Brickhouse of Columbia on two counts of felonious breaking and entering and larceny.
The arrests were the result of an investigation into several robberies at residences in the Soundside area of Tyrrell County in July, 2009. Stolen items included money, a handgun, a camera, watch, and computer.
Brickhouse was extradited back from New Mexico to North Carolina on probation charges.
Brickhouse was also wanted for failure to appear in Beaufort County and unauthorized use of a conveyance in Washington County.
Brickhouse was placed in the Washington County Detention Center on a $30,000.00 bond.

You know you try to help someone, many times, and then they take advantage and do this to you, not only what they were charged with but other crimes that I didn't even report but happened at the same time. There will be a day of reckoning at some point and I hope he learns something from all this and makes a decision that he needs to change his life and be the person that his children will be proud to call "Dad".

This is my cousin and a sin is a sin and no ones perfect. So ya'll should think before you speak. Im not taking up for him because hes family but I am taking up for him because everyones acting like they've never done anything wrong before. Im not saying what he did was right but he came from an amazing family both of his parents are amazing people. He has a good heart.... believe it or not there is good in everyone and no one deserves to be talked to in such a manner as calling him a "thug", the appropriate word for it is hes "human".

You know this might be your son or daughter. Don't judge too harshly until you've lived it. "Thugs", as you call them are somebody's child. This one happens to be mine. I'm not proud of what he's done and by no means do I condone it but he's not an animal, he's my son. I don't think it would be very funny to you if it were your child. Also, don't think he came from a family of people who don't care and haven't tried to teach him better because he did. Our family is very loving and we all work. Sometimes things happen with your kids you can't control. I hope none of this happens to your children. Trust me, I wouldn't judge them or you. I hope none of you ever have to walk in our shoes but it does happen so think about that before you know what you would do or what should be done. He is going to serve time and I just pray it will teach him what he needs to have going forward so this will never happen again.
