A North Carolina sheriff wants to renew interest in the death of an infant boy.

Cumberland County Sheriff Earl Butler and his staff on Monday will lay a wreath at the grave of the baby whose body was discovered along a roadside a decade ago.

It's hoped the graveside service at a church in Linden stirs memories about the case. Authorities want someone to come forward with information about the boy given the name Baby Michael.

The child was less than a day old when his body was found in March 1999. He died from severe blunt force trauma.

A reward for information is being offered in the case.

Authorities say the boy was born to a white woman, but neither the mother nor the father have been identified.

I don't understand how people can do that to a child. Especially a 1 day old little boy. Its inhumane to do something like that and who ever did this to that little baby should be put on the speed track to death row.
