They say crime doesn't pay but here's proof that the law does.
Halifax County Sheriff's Deputies arrest a man after getting a Crime Stoppers tip.
It happened on Saturday in Roanoke Rapids. Deputies arrested Lionel Maurice Martin. Lawmen say Martin was wanted for cyber stalking and simple assault.
Deputies say he tried to flee out a window at the place he was staying but after a foot chase Martin would be captured.
The suspects friend Julie Monroe was also locked up. Lawmen say it was her residence where Martin got caught.
Officials say she originally told investigators Martin was not at her home. She was charged with resisting a public officer.
