A 28-year-old man has been arrested on 2 counts of indecent liberties with a child in Carteret County.

Newport Police say they arrested Robert Boyd Jolly on Thursday.

They tell WITN News they got a tip from the Department of Social Services that Jolly was living with a family in Newport and had possibly assaulted two children at the home back in September of 2008.

After a police investigation, authorities say they determined that Jolly had inappropriate relations with a 9-year-old and an 8-year-old.

Jolly is behind bars on a $100,000 bond.
