Greenville police now say they are offering a reward for the return of video memories of a baby who later died of SIDS.

The $1,000 reward will be offered through Crime Stoppers. Corporal Kip Gaskins says they only want the tape back.

Gaskins says whoever has the tape can just send it in to Pitt-Greenville Crimestoppers at P.O. Box 7207, Greenville, NC 27835.

They say the people would need to include a name with the tape, and it can fictitious, so when they call Crimestoppers at (252) 758-7777, they can give the officer that name in order to get the reward money.

The Greenville family lost their four month old son to sudden infant death syndrome this past summer. Then on Friday they suffered another devastating loss, after their home was broken into and someone stole their precious memories of their son.

Lindsey Jones and her husband Jeremy came home to find the backdoor of their Greenville home kicked in. The thief stole their X-Box, Wii gaming system, and jewelry...all items that can be replaced. But they also took a camcorder that still had the video inside of the day their son Ayden came home from the hospital.

Lindsey says, "Memories can't be replaced--things can. Things that were taken, can be replaced but the memory of that is gone now, we have in our minds, but the tangible proof of it is gone."

Jones says she hopes for a Christmas miracle and that whoever has the video can return it -- with no need for names or any questions asked.

I feel so badly for this wonderful family...I do hope they recover this tape...having said that, from my experiences with thieves, they have no conscience or soul or compassion for anyone....They are the lowest of the low,the scum of the earth....The only way this tape will be recovered is if someone who received this camera not knowing it is stolen, sees the tape & comes forward....I'm hoping for that miracle at Christmas.

If anyone out there knows who broke into this couple's home please do the deceit thing and come forward. You know how people like to talk and eventually the truth comes out, surely someone has owed up to this and someone out there knows something and can help this precious family recover the video of their son. I am praying for anyone that knows and that they will have the heart to do the right thing.
