The Marine once at the center of an international manhunt makes a court appearance in Onslow County Tuesday.

Cesar Laurean in scheduled to appear in Onslow County court Tuesday. Laurean is accused of killing his pregnant Marine comrade, Maria Lauterbach, then burning and burying her body. Her body was discovered in Laurean's backyard in January 2008. Pre-trial motions are scheduled to be presented in court Tuesday.

In fact, all the murder suspects in Onslow County's Court System right now are due in court Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. That includes appearances Tuesday for George Hayden and Vickie Babbit. The two are accused of killing Babbit's husband, Camp Lejeune Marine Bill Miller, in 1972. Hayden is the former Police Chief in Belhaven and Cape Carteret. Another suspect in the Miller murder, Rodger Gill, is due in court in Onslow County Wednesday.

Cody Richardson, a Marine who is charged with strangling his wife in Jacksonville, and leaving her body in their apartment for days in September, will also be in court on Wednesday,

So far this year, 27 first degree murder cases have been disposed in the 4th Prosecutorial District which includes Onslow, Jones, Sampson and Duplin Counties.

It will be interesting to see how much time this guy gets in prison if found guilty. Especially considering MY daughter was murdered, and the murderer was tried in the same courtroom. He only got 13 years for my daughters life...somehow I think this guy will get more, because of the publicity. Wow - what a fair justice system we have.

Since the Marines are shipping out soon don't they need "expendable" EOD people?
