Two people, one of them just 16 years old, are charged with an armed robbery early Saturday morning in Jacksonville.
About 1:00 a.m., police were called to the Kangaroo Express on Lejeune Boulevard.
When they got on the scene, the victims told police they were sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot when a man, who was black, got into the rear passenger area of their vehicle, and that the man demanded money and struck the victims several times in the head with a handgun.
No one was seriously hurt.
One of the victims told police he or she was able to escape the vehicle and ran in to the Kangaroo Express to call the police. The suspect took off and left the scene in another vehicle.
The victims told police a man and woman, both white, were inside that vehicle as well as the black suspect.
Police issued a "Be On The Lookout" alert for that vehicle. Lawmen say a short time later, the vehicle was involved in a pursuit with the Highway Patrol and Maysville police in Jones County and then crashed. One suspect got away. Two others were taken into custody and charged.
Kegan Damke, age 16 of Jacksonville, is charged with aiding and abetting armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Those are the same charges facing 20-year-old Lauren Dail of Jacksonville.
No description of the third suspect has been provided at this time.

Ashley I can tell you for a FACT that these were low lifes...I HEARD her and her string of profanities that night. She was so unruly that it took 3 officers to cuff her. I stood at the end of my driveway for 20 minutes watching.
Just to devils looking for a fix. Momma should've told the other guy who got away not to hang around trash like this. Its getting light in here.
