With two dozen unsolved homicides, one Eastern Carolina police department has set up a Cold Case Unit.

There are 24 unsolved homicides in Rocky Mount dating back to 1977. Four of those happened this year and four last year. These cases do not include any of the women found murdered in western Edgecombe County.

Police say a cold case is a homicide or missing person case that remains unsolved with no viable and unexplored investigative leads.

Investigators have set up a web site with all the cold homicide cases. Click here to view cold case web site. They also say rewards are available through Crime Stoppers and Rocky Mount police for information on the capture and conviction of suspects in these cold cases.
